Sophie Lacaze a étudié la composition à l’Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris puis à l’Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena (Italie) avec Franco Donatoni et Ennio Morricone. Elle a aussi suivi les cours de Pierre Boulez au Collège de France, et est lauréate de nombreux prix, notamment du Grand Prix Lycéen des Compositeurs (2009). Ses oeuvres sont régulièrement jouées et diffusées dans plus de vingt pays.
