Sisters AKOUSMATICA
As Sisters Akousmatica, Julia Drouhin and Phillipa Stafford create curatorial and written projects concerning collective radio practices and auditory-spatial exploration that support and cultivate the voices of women and non-binary people in public space. They have produced large-scale public transmission projects, a retreat for women and non-binary artists, workshops and commissions with organisations such as Mona Foma, Liquid Architecture, Next Wave Festival, The Channel, Signal, Radiophrenia, Hobiennale, Arts Tasmania and 3CR, a community radio in Melbourne for which they were the recipient of the Community Radio Association of Australia’s Excellence in Music Programming award 2017.
