Arm wrestling # 3 (a man and a woman) - 2012
is the soundtrack of a site-specific interactive sound installation. (Two radios, arduino, 2 radio-transmitters) presented at the collective show “On the boundery of sound” curated by Mark Jackson at the Nursery Gallery, London.

When arm-wrestling, two people break an initial balance in a play of physical forces. In this project, the arm wrestling is enacted each time by two recorded voices. Carrying different political connotations and embodying different degrees of powers, the voices expose the limits of communication. Here, the game is about hegemony in communication with each arm wrestle forming a metaphor for the tension and failures of the communication process. “Arm wrestling # 3 (a man and a woman)” is a site specific sound installation for two radios. One broadcasts a man’s voice, while the other that of a woman. They tell each other words whose connotations change according to gender.

Anna Raimondo (née en 1981 en Italie, vit et travaille entre Bruxelles et l’international) obtient en 2012 le Master en Arts sonore au London College of Communication (University of the Arts of London, UK). Elle a participé à des expositions et festivals internationaux, dont : l’exposition personnelle “Mi porti al mare?” curatée par Nancy Casielles et Nancy Suarez à la MAAC à Bruxelles (BE); l’exposition personnelle “Verso Sud” à Thinkart curatée par David Ruffel et Ismael, à Casablanca (MA); l’exposition collective “Everyone has a sense of rhythm” curated by Christine Eyene au DRAF, Londres (UK); l’exposition collective « You must change your life » curaté par Hicham Khalidi au STUK de Leuven (BE); l’exposition personnelle « Beyond Voice. Me, you and everyone who is listening » à la gallerie Arte Contemporanea Bruxelles (Be); la 5ème Biennale de Marrakech (Ma); Espace (Im) Media à Sporobole Art Center (Sherbrooke, Ca); etc. 


Ses travaux radiophoniques ont été diffusés dans différents pays et en plusieurs langues : Kunst Radio (At) ; Deutschlandradio Kultur (De) ; Arte Radio (Fr) ; Rai (It) ; Rtbf (Be). En qualité de commissaire, elle a travaillé à des projets d’art sonore et radiophonique dans différents espaces et événements, comme au Friday Late au V&A Museum (London, Uk) et dans le cadre de Curator Zone au Cube – Independent Art Room (Rabat, Ma). Avec Younes Baba­-Ali, elle a mis en place la plateforme d'art sonore et radiophonique Saout radio. Elle a été primé avec le prix Palma Ars Acustica pour la création radiophonique “Me, my english and all the languages of my life” en 2016 et avec le paysage sonore “La vie en Bleu” dans le cadre du prix d’art sonore PIARS en 2014.
